Tiffany Leung, MD, MPH, FACP, FAMIA, FEFIM

Tiffany I. Leung, MD, MPH, FACP, FAMIA, FEFIM is a U.S.-trained Internal Medicine physician and Scientific Editorial Director at JMIR Publications and Adjunct Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Dr. Leung received a BS in Biomedical Engineering, combined MD/MPH, and Internal Medicine residency training at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She also completed an Advanced Fellowship in Medical Informatics at the VA (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs) Palo Alto Health Care System and Stanford University, in Palo Alto, CA, USA. She was formerly Clinical Assistant Professor and primary care telemedicine physician at Stanford University, and most recently Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. As an experienced general internist board certified in Clinical Informatics in the U.S., she has a broad base of knowledge in clinical practice, public and population health, and clinical informatics research. Dr. Leung is a director on the AMIA Board of Directors (2024-26), past Co-Chair of AMIA's Women in AMIA (WIA) Steering Committee (2022-2023), and previously served as the Chair of the Women in AMIA Awards & Leadership Subcommittee (2019-2021). She is also a member of the AMIA Diversity & Inclusivity Task Force's Subcommittee on Communications. She is past Editor-in-Chief of the Society of General Internal Medicine's monthly newsletter, SGIM Forum (2020-23). She is the 2022 recipient of the American College of Physicians' Walter J. McDonald Award for Early Career Physicians.
