Nursing Informatics Innovators: Judith J. Warren
Judith J. Warren, PhD, RN, BC, FAAN, FACMI is the Christine A. Hartley Centennial Professor at the University of Kansas School of Nursing, the Director of the interprofessional graduate Health Informatics program at KU, and the Director of Nursing Informatics in the KU Center for Health Informatics. Adapting electronic health record software she developed, in partnership with Cerner Corporation, the Academic Education Solution to teach students how to analyze data from virtual patient case studies, simulations and clinical experiences while developing informatics competencies. This system is used by over 60 schools of nursing, medicine, pharmacy and allied health. She is a member of the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics (NCVHS) and co-chair of its Standards Subcommittee. NCVHS is an advisory committee to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on health data, statistics and national health information policy. She serves on the Quality Assurance Committee of SNOMED CT.
